olivia mcneely grew up in st. paul, minnesota. she recently graduated with her master’s degree in psychology and is continuing her studies in a doctoral program. liv loves to camp, ski, hike, swim, garden, explore the world, play with animals, and take road trips. she loves to be creative, and is often seen picking up a new artistic endeavor. yoshi can almost always be found by her side.

alex hartzler grew up in hopkins, minnesota, lived and snowboarded in slc, utah for a number of years before coming back to the midwest, where he met olivia. alex finds happiness in almost anything he comes across, filling his free time with fly fishing, remodeling homes, fixing motorcycles, snowboarding and cuddling with yoshi. he loves exploring the world around him and is truly not capable of being bored.

us

we met in may 2017 at hazelden. after a year of long distance, olivia moved home in hopes of pursuing her graduate degree and after that we were pretty much joined at the hip. we feel very blessed to have met each other in the way we did, as we see and experience the world in a unique way and can lean on each other through the process of growing and changing ourselves and our world views. in january 2019, we welcomed our puppy, yoshi, into our family. we’ve bonded over our mutual love of the outdoors and spend our free time camping, skiing/snowboarding, fishing, climbing trees, exploring parks (city, state + national), + dreaming up our future.

we got engaged in taos, new mexico on 12/29/19 while hiking to ski powder. since our engagement, we’ve dreamed of a wedding where everybody felt free to connect and share in our love of being outdoors.
